Jamil Lambert
Jamil is a PhD medical physicist and registered Medical Physics Expert with more than 20 years experience in radiotherapy.
Beginning his career in Australia, his doctoral research at the University of Sydney focused on plastic scintillation dosimetry for both brachytherapy and external beam applications. Then moving to the four room proton therapy center in Essen Germany (WPE) and working on the acceptance testing and commissioning of DS, US, PBS and the two planning systems, XiO and Raystation. WPE was the first Raystation proton therapy customer which involved testing new versions and providing feedback on how it should be improved. At WPE he progressed to Medical Physics Expert. This included heading QA and supporting treatment planning, while pursuing research in novel detectors, radiobiology and planning methodologies.
In the UK he became Principal Physicist (Lead for Proton Therapy), leading the commissioning of the first high energy proton therapy sites in the UK. Designing and implementing the routine and patient‑specific QA programs, overseeing proton treatment planning, planning complex cases, protocol development and staff training across a multi‑site network.
Through Radiophys Consulting Ltd. he now provides specialised medical physics support including MPE cover, commissioning/QA support and optimisation physics and dosimetry workflows to centres implementing or scaling advanced radiotherapy services.
He holds UK HCPC Clinical Scientist registration, UK and German MPE certifications (particle therapy, teletherapy, brachytherapy) and has authored over 40 peer‑reviewed publications, textbook chapters and patents in proton therapy physics and dosimetry. Full publication lists are available on ResearchGate and Google Scholar.
